Why everyone is talking about a baby boy
It is all over the web – Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have had their baby boy, "Saint West!" The newborn is undeniably one of the most anticipated babies born in 2015.
According to the UNICEF an average of 353,000 babies are born each day! That is a lot of nappies that need changing - ha!
Isn't it interesting that out of the 353,000 babies on December 5th, only one of them received media and global attention? The truth is, the Kardashian - West child was famous before he even left the womb!
People love the latest gossip, the latest love story and the latest trends. Right now, the talk of the town is baby West. However, there is another birth that people are talking about...
This baby was born 2000 odd years ago and changed the face of history. This little boy was born in a stable because everywhere else in the town was full. His name was Jesus and He changed the world.
JESUS GIVES A LIFE OF PURPOSE AND MEANING.
There is no denying the fact that Jesus Christ lived. There is so much historical evidence and articles that prove his very existence. The question is do you believe His message? CS LEWIS says this,
““I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” ”
Jesus’ messaged of grace is insanely amazing. We have done NOTHING to deserve His love. He gives hope to the hopeless. Jesus did not come to bring us some religious, boring life but rather to give us life more abundantly. A life of adventure and purpose. A life in community with others and with Him.
While a lot of people are talking about Kim and Kanye's baby (a big congrats to them), could I encourage us to remember Jesus in this season? The fundamental reason for celebrating Christmas is the birth of Jesus and I for one am thankful for that.
Jesus is the reason for the season!
In our western culture Christmas is a special time. The shops are filled with Christmas decorations. Family gathers together. Food is everywhere. The carols are playing. The presents are wrapped and then unwrapped. Santa is making his way to town. People are happy and are full of the Christmas cheer (sometimes, at least). Christmas truly is a wonderful time.
For some people however Christmas is a tough time of year. It often can be financially stressful. Christmas may also be marked by the loss of a loved one in previous years. There can be many contributing factors to why Christmas can be tricky for people.
Whether Christmas is a time of joy or sorrow, could I remind you that Jesus is the reason for the season. Jesus is not complicated and difficult to be in a relationship with. You may have never stepped foot into a church but maybe this Christmas will be different. I encourage you to check out a church and find out more about Him.
People are still talking about Jesus today.
The birth of Jesus was so significant. There has never been a man who has had so much impact on the world like Jesus has. He changed the world but He can change your life too. Everyone is talking about the arrival of Kim & Kanye's baby but people are still talking about Jesus today!
Jesus is not a fad, something that is cool this year, no His message is still relevant today just as it was 2000 years ago.
No matter how hard some people have tried to remove the story of Jesus He is still changing and saving lives today. His grace is available today. His love is available today. He will not fade away but His love endures forever.
My aim in writing this blog was to just remind us of the significance of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. While everyone is talking about baby West, let's keep talking about Jesus.
Christmas is actually such a great time of year. Jesus gives us a life of purpose and meaning. Jesus is the reason for this season. People are still talking about Jesus today. It is a great encouragement to us. I hope you have a great Christmas season.
